Jubilee is now a Gnome Mage, and even though she’s an ally, you may want to see less of Jubilee Arcspark in play and keep her hiding in your deck. While she’s a solid 3 ATK / 3 health untargetable ally for 3 resources, her real bonus comes from having her in a deck with tons of reveal quests. Whether she shows up in Zapped Giants or Big Game Hunter, you’ll still draw an extra card, even if no other cards of the appropriate type show up. She’s just pure gas in Kibler’s Exotic Pets, providing that extra card draw and ally to pick from the quest’s power. You can also set her up with It’s a Secret to Everybody, putting her on top of your deck and then flipping another quest when she’s guaranteed to show up in those revealed cards. As all players have experienced, whiffing on a quest power can throw off your entire game. Jubilee really helps with the math behind getting that extra value from your quests and ensuring that you’ll hit more often when you fire them up.
Don’t forget that she provides a 3 ATK / 3 health body for 3! The fact that she’s untargetable forces your opponent to deal with her by trading an ally or striking with a weapon. This helps you slow down the game in control decks, but she has a big enough ATK to make her great in beatdown too. Now you can follow up Apprentice Merry and Jeleane Nightbreeze with an untargetable 3-drop! Overall, Jubilee Arcspark is such a solid card that she’ll be popping up in Constructed decks for a long time.
Fires of Outland really shows players the flavor of the game. Mordotz is guaranteed to be a hit with collectors, TCG players, and MMO players who simply desire the card for what it means to them in their online experience. Jubilee doesn’t do anything particularly fancy, but she’s so solid and consistent that she will see play in all types of decks. These cards not only enhance your TCG experience through their play strengths, but they also speak to players as a community and have an emphasis on flavor. It’s that great feeling people get when they see Burninate from the Onyxia’s Lair Raid Decks and hum the Trogdor song for the rest of the day.
With cards like these that are a treat both when you open them and when they are in play, Fires of Outland looks to be a strong set that players will definitely want to get before the cards hit store shelves. Those Sneak Preview weekends I mentioned earlier are a great way to get into the World of Warcraft community and share your love for the game with others. I wish you the best of luck pulling these cards, and don’t forget to appreciate the cards themselves and the world into which they bring you.
